Regulation in Home Care
Regulation in Home Care
One of the main challenges faced by Irish private home care providers is recruiting suitably qualified staff and retaining them in the sector. Training and education are key to ensuring staff are engaged, competent and confident in their roles. Challenges to ongoing training and education include limited funding for professional development programs, addressing the evolving needs of diverse client populations, cultural integration of staff, keeping up with advancements in healthcare practices and complying with new and upcoming regulations.
In response to these challenges, we aim to support the private home care sector by providing training and education courses for home care that are specific to your needs while lowering the cost.
We are committed to advancing our knowledge through collaboration, feedback, high-quality education, and innovative program design. Our goal is to provide you and your teams with the latest evidence-based practices.
Despite the complexities, investing in training for staff in Irish home care providers is crucial, as it improves the quality of care, enhances client outcomes, boosts staff morale, increases staff retention, and ensures regulatory compliance.

Our Research
Our research and training align closely with industry needs. Collaborating with our research partner, LHP Skillnet is currently conducting two studies. The first examines the feasibility of a nationwide induction program for home care support workers. The second delves into international career pathways for these workers, aiming to devise an effective model for Ireland. We highly value member input gathered through surveys and focus groups, aiding us in refining practices and training quality. Our overarching mission is to elevate the sector through research-backed insights, enhanced training, and robust career support.
